FIFA has considered the possibility of providing free tickets to construction workers and poor people from communities at the 12 host cities. The “social tickets” is a program that has already been adopted in South Africa and should help to fill stadiums in games with lower demand for tickets. FIFA might reserve 5% of tickets for this program and most of them will be for the matches that will happening in Manaus, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Recife and Natal, cities that won´t receive the Brazilian national team. On July 13, 2011, BWI was invited to participate in the International Seminar on World Cup 2014 Olympic Games in 2016, Green Jobs and Decent Work, organized by the national center UGT (União Geral dos Trabalhadores) one day before its congress. The seminar discussed the prospects of the preparation to host the mega sporting events in Brazil in 2014 and 2016 and its consequences for the lives of Brazilian workers.
